Yesterday was my long day. I taught twice in the morning and then met with several teams for individual consultation. We discussed a number of leadership principle and practical questions. The group is like a sponge when it comes to truth. They are so committed and have sacrificed much. Last night we had a time of sharing where members of the group got to come to the podium and tell about God's work in their lives. One of the teams spent 194 days in prison because of their work. Another woman was at the conference without her husband because he is under such scrutiny that he cannot go anywhere. These people are the real thing.
The evening last night was concluded by the National Director. He spend time reminding this new, growing team of all the people who had helped them come to faith and become established. He told them that the day is coming that their country will be the largest sending country in the world. Currently, the US sends 70,000 workers to the nations. By 2020, they plan to send 100,000 workers to the nations. He warned them not to become proud but to remember their humble beginning so that they will continue to partner with all the world for the cause of the Gospel.
Among the partners, he specifically thanked Hill Country Bible Church for being the first western church to believe in their vision and support them in their infancy. Friends, we are making an eternal difference in a needy world. Stay faithful to pray, serve, give, and love. Jesus Christ is pleased with our work.
Now, I have to get ready to head out to the "floating market" with the team for a "fun" day. I getting used to the Thai food!!
Tim, its wonderful to hear the news you are sharing.
We are also looking forward to hearing what you have discerned that we need to learn from our brothers and sisters in the PacRim, and then do, wherever it is applicable.
See you Friday?

Tim, just wanted you to know that we are praying for you back in the states. It sounds like you're having an amazing experience while teaching, hanging out, and impacted some of real "heroes" of the faith.
I'm totally trying to figure out the "floating market"...is it flooded there or do they really have the market out on the water? How crazy!
Have a great day and thanks for the example you continuously set!

Tim,
It is such a blessing to be able to keep up with your time there and hear all that God is doing in the lives of His people.
Thai food, hmmmmm you'll have to fill me in on what it is like when you return.
See you Friday.
Praying for you and with you for strength and rest!
